Each year the United States Government grants 50,000 green cards to people from countries with historically low rates of immigration to the United States of America. Electronic Green Card Diversity Visa Lottery Registration
Green Card DV-Lottery applications are only accepted online, the US Government does not accept paper applications any more. The USA Government implemented the electronic registration system in 2003, beginning with DV-2005 Lottery in order to make the Green Card DV-Lottery process more efficient and secure. The USA Government utilizes special technology and other means to identify those who commit fraud for the purposes of illegal immigration or those who submit multiple entries. The Green Card Diversity Visa Lottery process:

- Pay the administrative DV-Lottery Application fee
- Receive your registration number and password to your account
- Log into to your account and complete/change your information
- Provide/upload photos of your self and any co-applicant
- Submit your Green Card DV-Lottery application
- Check on-line, if you won your Green Card in the Lottery

Green Card DV-Lottery History
The congressionally mandated Diversity Visa Green Card Lottery Program that is administered on an annual basis by the Department of State and conducted based on United States law, specifically Section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). This law provides for a class of immigrants known as diversity immigrants, with visas made available to persons from countries with historically low rates of immigration to the United States. For fiscal year 2024, 50,000 green cards will be available. A Green Card is also know as permanent resident card.
